Friday 23 October shortly before 3 pm, searchers in deep woods found the body of the 9 years old Elizabeth Olten missing since Wednesday 21 October evening, when she was last reported walking home from a friends house. Cole County Sheriff Greg White said a suspect who knew Elizabeth was taken into custody, but he did not give details about how the girl died. White also declined to release details about the suspect, saying only that the person was a juvenile, older than Elizabeth, who lived in the area. The sheriff said evidence led authorities to that person, who, after being interviewed, led them to the girl’s body
