The story of Brandon Muir

In memory of Brandon Muir
2006 - 2008

On 15th March 2008, his mother Heather Boyd left 23 months old Brandon with her boyfriend of just a few months in their Dundee flat while she went out shopping. When she was away, Robert Cunningham assaulted the little boy so savagely that he suffered a ruptured intestine.
During the course of the day, he became increasingly unwell and was vomiting brown liquid. Detective Chief Inspector William Semple from Tayside police said the mother thought he had a 24-hour bug and was unconcerned. In the early evening Heather went out to work as a prostitute to raise some money for heroin. After that she and Cunningham took Brandon to a party round the corner. He was clearly very unwell by this point and was propped up beside the toilet while they took drugs in the other room. At around two in the morning they finally called 999 after he became unconscious, but it was far too late by this point to help little Brandon. He was pronounced dead in hospital having suffered fatal acute peritonitis. Doctors say he must have been in great pain and yet, for more than 24 hours, no one bothered to get medical help and he did suffer more than 36 injuries.

Robert Cunningham was sentenced t0 10 years in jail for killing Brandon. Heather Boyed was cleared.

John, Brandon's father said "Brandon was amazing, always smiling, always playful. He was great." and a friend of the family said "Brandon always gave you cuddles. He was affectionate."

May you rest in peace little Brandon. Sadly Child protection services failed again..

FAMILY ABDUCTION: Sophia Vivian Civartetcaia-Turner

On February 15th 2007 a little angel was born to the Turner family in Rockford Illinois USA. A blond; blue eyed baby that reached out for life as soon as her voice could be heard. When she started learning to speak there seemed to be no difficulty in learning English and Russian at the same time. The little sweet heart is a heart breaker and looks to melt anyone.

On April 30th, 2009 Olga left from Chicago O'Hare airport under the guise of returning to her native country to renew her passport and help her mother. Mr. Turner discovered several clues that gave him cause for concern and on May 17th traveled to Moldova. Upon arrival on May 18th Mr. Turner received email notice from Olga of her plans to divorce and to remain in Moldova with Sophia. Sophia was last seen May 21st during a sanctioned meeting were Sophia was taken by force from Mr. Turner by Olga's family. During this incident Olga's father Platon assaulted Mr. Turner to prevent Mr. Turner from keeping Sophia - while Sophia was taken into hiding. On May 25th, 2009 Mr. Turner's Moldavian attorneys received notification by Olga's representatives of her intent to ransom and refuse to return Sophia until Mr. Turner submitted to the terms. On June 3rd 2009 Mr. Turner returned to the US without Sophia. As of June 10th 2009 Mr. Turner, US Embassy in Moldova, local and International police have been unable to locate or communicate with Sophia's captors. A reward of 1500 leu (~$134 US) will be offered to anyone that knows the whereabouts of Sophia and her mother Olga.

The newly formed Republic of Moldova is not part of the European Union and is not a signatory of any International laws or conventions, including The Hague. As a result they do not honor or follow customary parental or children's rights nor do they recognize the lawful processes concluded here in the United States. Local US law enforcement, including the FBI and the Department of State are working diligently but can not operate in Moldova. There are many layers of bureaucratic red tape that are causing mounting legal fees, expensive search efforts and travel expenses to and from Moldova. It's costly and overwhelming.

Please keep Sophia in your prayers!
